Car accident, Smoking Pot, Getting Arrested. A night out with Eagles DT Mike Patterson.

Breaking news this Friday, is that last Saturday, Eagles DT Mike Patterson was arrested for possession of Marijuana. I don't get how athletes are getting caught for weed all the time. If smoking weed is your thing fine. But stay home and do it. You shouldn't be doing it, but IF you are, why take the risk of being caught outside your home driving around with weed. Police said they found a vehicle on the side of the road with damage caused by a minor motor vehicle accident around 6 a.m. They said they smelled burning marijuana coming from inside and found Patterson and the marijuana inside. They said Patterson admitted it was his. He was charged with possession and released. So, you get into a accident and instead of getting the F out of dodge, you decide to blaze up on the spot. Riggggght. Also inside the car was Patterson's brother, Tyrone, who had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, police said. Police said he resisted arrest. His brother was charged with resisting arrest, posted bail and was released. This is the last thing the Eagles need right now. Patterson is coming off of a breakout season and was a key to the Eagles defense last season. The Eagles and NFL have not commented on the news of Patterson's arrest.

Understandable....but dont majority of Americans, today, get high all the time? Just because it is illegal doesn't mean that people should judge one for wanting to get high in ones own vehicle. Were they really disturbing the peace???????

First, a majority of americans do not smoke pot "all the time". But it is still illegal. If you wanna smoke at your home I'm fine with that, but driving around getting high is not safe. Just cause you own a vehicle doesn't give you the right to smoke pot in it. Marijuana does impair your judgement. All I'm saying is, that it was 6am, they got in some kind of accident, and they decide to blaze up after that, bad decision. I'm not judging him for the fact that he likes to smoke pot, but I am judging him for the fact that he was acting like an idiot. Go home and smoke your pot.

Did it ever occur to anyone that you shouldn't always believe what you hear? Mike Patterson is not an idiot. It might be helpful if the whole story was reported. Just because the police report one thing doesn't mean it is entirely correct. They were stopped on the side of the road, down the street from their home, because of the flat tire that resulted from the accident. They were about to change the tire when the police arrived. The police obviously don't know what "burning" marijuana smells like because the Pattersons did not decide to smoke on the side of the road. We should all know that the smell of marijuana lingers, especially in a small space such as a vehicle. They were not smoking in the car at the time. They had smoked prior to leaving their previous destination and were simply trying to get home. Check your sources before you comment.

Where to start. Are you really trying to defend Mike Patterson for posssession of Marijuana, after he admitted to the weed being his. This is not about whether weed should be legal or illegal. In 2008, its still illegal. Now to your retarded comments. "It might be helpful if the whole story was reported." The "WHOLE" story. Tell me where to find the "WHOLE" story genus. The "WHOLE STORY" is from the police report. A legal document. Police smelled pot, police found pot, Mike Patterson ADMITTED that it was his. End of "WHOLE STORY" So you're telling me thats not the whole story? "They were stopped on the side of the road, down the street from their home, because of the flat tire that resulted from the accident." Okay, they got into an ACCIDENT, any chance being high had something to do with it? Maybe? Okay. "They had smoked prior to leaving their previous destination and were simply trying to get home." Poor Mike Patterson just trying to get home, after smoking an illegal substance, and was just trying to change a tire at 6am on a Saturday night after getting into a accident. Whether they were smoking pot then,or just got finished, it doesn't matter. You can't drive while impaired, its ILLEGAL. Smoking pot is ILLEGAL. Whether you or I agree with it, its illegal. Do you understand that? The police found weed in the car. ILLEGAL. "The police obviously don't know what "burning" marijuana smells like because the Patterson's did not decide to smoke on the side of the road." So now your going to tell me that law enforcement officers don't know what weed smells like? You really are dumb. "Check your sources before you comment." Check my sources, I'm not Geraldo Rivera, I'm not a reporter. This was REPORTED on in the news, and I am giving my OPINION, on my BLOG. If you don't like it, don't read it. Take a hike. What are you like the head the Mike Patterson fan club?
